Rain On Obama's Parade

All is not so well in Obamaland.

There’s been a lot of talk about the resurgent President Obama, the gleeful Obama 2012 campaign headquarters, the newly rollicking economy, the diminishing prospects for Republican presidential contenders, and the drapes being measure for the Obama second term Oval Office redesign.

And so, I just want to note that, while I hate to rain on the parade at campaign headquarters in Chicago, the most respected polling firm in America, Gallup, today puts Obama’s approval rating at 43 percent. Fully 48 percent disapprove.

That’s right about where his approval has been for nearly a year, not including a brief bump last May after Obama offed Osama.

The Obama revival talk is mostly spin, eagerly being gobbled up by the president’s friends in the media.

Everything about this man is spin. The media should be ashamed.

GOP Enthusiasm Gains Ground

8% is only slightly ahead?

By 53% to 45%, Republicans, including independents who lean Republican, are slightly more likely than Democrats and Democratic leaners to say they are "more enthusiastic than usual about voting" this year. Republicans have consistently led Democrats in voting enthusiasm since last fall, but to varying degrees.

The GOP is ahead of the last Presidential cycle, by a large number.

The 53% of Republicans who feel more enthusiastic about voting today — as Mitt Romney and Rick Santorum are engaged in a pitched nomination battle — is greater than the 44% found in February 2008 when John McCain and Mike Huckabee were still dueling in the primaries.

Make no mistake, the base will be all over whoever gets the GOP nomination. For the Republicans this year it will be ABO.

Hold the election today and vote the smug bastard out!

If the election were held today, 50 percent said they would support Romney versus 46 percent who would support Obama, according to Gallup. The president holds the edge on former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum, 49 percent to 48.

America will not survive another 4 years of Obama.
